A very important tip... watch out guineapigs are grade A bath tub escape artists
be prepared for scratch and a big huff (My boy charlie turns his back on me and turns to mum for sympathy!)

that's a good idea my guinea pigs hate water but since my mum won't let me use the bath for my piggles i have to use a bucket.. which is quite tall but aparrently small anough to jump out of!

Bath time can be quite a shock for GPs , but it does them the world of good every now and then! They are excellent swimmers too, so I occasionally fill the bath up and give them 10 mins of swim-time, letting them rest on my hand regularly. I found this was of great help to Scratchy when he hurt his back and had limited movement in his back leg - a few swimming sessions and he was back to normal!

My 2 boys I have now are more used to baths since I've had them so are not constantly trying to jump out the kitchen sink anymore !! They soon get to realise that it's not the end of the world and will no doubt enjoy the towelling down after, so don't worry too much that they might go all huffy on you! It doesn't last!
