Unhappy Inaccuracies in Morrisons small pet advice

Morrisons has a small pet advice section on it's website.

Some of the information is very misleading and some just wrong

I thought if a few people emailed them they may put correct info on for potential owners/owners:

http://www.morrisons.co.uk/Family-Li...Small-animals/

The things I have noticed are,

They advice using lots of straw for guinea pigs to burrow in.

They say limit veg and fruit as 'treats', and give vitamin drops for vitamin C

Quote: 'It’s important to encourage activity and provide entertainment for all pets like exercise balls and safe toys'

- no mention of not using them with guinea pigs.

I agree ange - some of that is quite alarming

Perhaps we can do something about it as a forum.

I will physically call them tomorrow, like I did with PAH. Their advice is appalling.

However, I'm encouraging people to be polite and helpful when speaking with Morrisons, because they're unlikely to listen if we shout at them.

I'll put an alert on the front page of the main site.

Thank you Pigpog and Snailspace, I agree an organised effort in a polite way is always the best way. No one responds well to being shouted at. That's why I posted it here so we can maybe have a group effort to correct them.

You would think a big company would be able to check their facts before trying to advise people wouldn't you.

read it too not good its it really veggies as treats what are they thinking
also read the bit on caring for your goldfish its nearly right but still misses out very useful information
oh the bit on transfer fish while cleaning made me laugh not,yes lets just totally stress the fish out by doing this there should be no reason to do this if you do like they say and only change 10-15% of the water

Yep! Perhaps you should notify a fishkeeping forum about that one?

As there are several members of this forum with fish, I assume you all belong to a fish forum of some kind?

Oh gosh, when will people learn?! When I went to Newquay Zoo on my holiday in Cornwall they had guinea and rabbits living together! (You'd think a zoo would know better). I mentioned it to one of the staff, wrote it on their customer survey and wrote them an email. I've been told they're looking into it, and can only hope they decided to split them up.
I'll be in contact with Morrisons as well. They really should check their facts!
